SPEAKER 1
Hey folks, this is Cecil Tushon here. I'm sitting here working on the show for coming up at Ferrari Gallery in Dallas and I thought I'd give you a little tour of my studio and where the museum collection is inventoried, photographed, and archived here from my studio essentially and so I'll give you a little walk

Studio Visit with Cecil Touchon

a walk around my studio June 13, 2024
4

My son Zach and his lovely wife Katia stopped in for visit on their way to Colorado to go camping and we decided to mess around with some promotional video stuff for the Visual Poetry and Color Exhibition coming up at Ferrari Gallery in Dallas July 27, 2024. We just kind of organically ended up doing this studio tour that Zach did a great job on and I thought I would share it with you. Below is the final tricked out version of the call for works for Visual Poetry and Color. In the meantime I received the boxes from Willie Marlow in Albany New York of the works from the first show and I have been busy inventorying and photographing all of those works and more works are starting to come in from other artists for the second iteration of the show in Dallas.

CALL FOR WORKS - DEADLINE: JULY 15, 2024

I would like to invite my fellow artists or poets to contribute one work to Visual Poetry and Color Opening July 27 and running through September at Ferrari Gallery in Dallas, Texas.

All works accepted and exhibited in this show. (spread the word with other artists)

Here is the show:

Buy an 8 x 8 x .75 inch birch cradled panel from Dick Blick

https://www.dickblick.com/prod.../blick-premier-wood-panels/

(does not need to be Dick Blick but the same sort of panel and the same dimensions)

Make a collage on it that somehow has to do with the theme and mail it to me by JULY 15, 2024 (deadline extended one extra month!). I’ll be driving the work over to the gallery the week of July 22, 2024 and install that week.

Thanks for this wonderful tour of your studio and home! I'm not surprised, seeing your incredible production and organization of the work areas, because I've seen your work for many years now. I am like you in that I prefer to get up in the morning and be in my studio. Looking forward to your continued exploration and amazing collages and paintings!

Thanks for sharing. I so enjoyed it. I like how your living area and studio are combined as one living and work space. It makes total sense. The transition from one room to another is a fun way to view all of your different approaches to your work, like little surprises, little gems. It makes me want to rearrange my work space now and make a large piece.

Thank you for the offer to submit a piece for the upcoming show.

Yes, I second Annette. What she said! Loved the tour. My husband and I have smaller spaces to work in and are far less organized. But we manage to make stuff and that’s good. I’ve passed along your invitation to family and friends. We’re returning from Japan in a week, will work on our submission and send to you. Thanks for this opportunity to participate.

I really enjoyed the studio tour! What a perfect setup! Lovely house. And to see your lifetime of works so beautifully displayed and each having a place to be is really impressive. I envy your organization as you know exactly where everything is as it should be. I can learn from that even though my own disorganization works for me most of the time. Such a treat you gave us in this video. Thanks!
