This is so accurate, despite the medium (art, music, dance, poetry). I love everything you said about each of these three cycles, and I look forward to the next essays!
Love this subject and your article; looking forward to reading more on it. Sometimes with me there's a hesitation in entering the studio whether I know I have to work on something specific or start something new. I know I can't force that Zone that I can eventually fall into and be absorbed by but when it happens it's glorious. There have been times when I wanted to leave out of feeling uncomfortable yet stayed anyway......respecting that awkwardness of not feeling it and when I finally let go of that ick, without planning it, that Zone waits for me and will take me to a place I haven't or couldn't have planned for. It merely happens and I am grateful.
A gem of an article. Just the kind of discussion that, in itself, is a creative immersion. Its those discussions when the participants follow the trails of concepts as they unfold between them. There’s joy and mystery and satisfaction in such talks. I so look forward to this series!
Entering.
Disappearing.
Returning.
The first requires preparation.
The second requires surrender.
The third requires responsibility.
