How often I think when there's been a longish break from creating art, that I may have "lost it" but when I return, it's there ready to go into action and refreshed and without hesitation, "it" or me or both seems to know just what to do and it feels seamless as if there wasn't a break of time. Happened last night. I hadn't worked in over a week because of the icy cold conditions as I worried about all sorts of things that never happened (the power stayed on and all the stray cats I feed came back for all their meals). I'm back in the studio and dealing with a piece that's giving me some grief but I'm not stopping and plowing ahead. Excellent essay and the music was so pleasant to listen to while reading it. Thanks!
