I went on a trip to Saint Louis with Nisa to see my Mom and for Nisa to get an interview that was stashed in the archives at Saint Louis Community College at Flo Valley which was the very school I went to after high school.
…Equipment is in order. This is our first test run in the raw, an unedited artist conversation recorded in the home of Gussie Klorer in Saint Louis, MO. on my iPhone, The recording opens with me trying to figure out where the recorder is on the iPhone. Luckily Gussie knew where it was.
Gussie is the slightly older sister of a Catholic grade school classmate of mine named Beanie and they lived across the street from the school. This is the first time I have spent time with Gussie in at least 40 years.
A number of us grade school mates were going to college for art in the mid 1970’s and would often hang out at the Klorer’s house in the evenings on weekends.
Gussie is an artist and was an art therapist professionally. We discuss the idea of making art over a lifetime.
