Sorry folks, I accidently misspelled Soane as Sloan for some reason. I have corrected that and noticed I didn't put a link to the website so I added that too!
Well, said! I think artifacts tell their own stories. To me, everything has to have a story unless it is brand new or I made it, and if I made it, I would know its story already, but maybe not. I am writing a novel right now, and I don't know the full story yet!
I'm so glad you wanted to come to the Sir John Soane museum! I really hope that one day the Ontological museum will be housed in a building that reflects its collection as well as this one does. Would love to help with the design :)
I'm obsessing over what is on that chair in the 3rd photo down.............a pinecone? A dead rat? A potato? Is someone not allowed to sit there? What is the damn thing????

I've been to the museum many times and I can tell you it's a dried thistle, to prevent people from sitting on the chairs :)
Thank you Sasha! Now I can go on with my day! A dried thistle......interesting choice for a deterrent.
Yeah I thought that was an interesting deterrent technique too. But it seems to work.
