The Danger! Quarantine Collage Poetry
The book project we did during the pandemic.
I forgot to mention in the last post “A Spontaneous Public Outburst” that it is part of a book project documenting the pandemic for April-June through collage poetry from an international variety of artists and poets. Here is a collage poem by my wife Rosalia.
The Battle - Rosalia Touchon
The battle against the virus
I want to make two points to you
become a source of comfort, calm and inspiration
the mission is to save lives
I’m proud to fight this fight with you
This is an invisible beast
And what’s even more cruel is this enemy doesn’t attack the strongest of us.
It attacks the weakest of us.
This is a moment that forges character, forges people, changes people
Ten years from now, you’ll be talking about today to your children or your grandchildren
and you will shed a tear because you will remember the lost.
At the end of the day, nobody can ask anything more from you
So I say, my friends, that we go out there today that’s what I say
I want to make two points to you
we’re going to save lives
God bless each and every one of you.

A Spontaneous Public Outburst
The good old days during the Trump Administration. May 24, 2020 Thousands of demonstrators filled the streets defying social distancing protocols to protest. Police used water cannons, tear gas, and pepper spray used to quash dissent protesters throwing objects like plastic bottles and umbrellas
Thank you, Rosalia, for this heartfelt and beautiful poem.
