Royal Proclamation No. 1
On the Matter of Citizenship in the Realm of Elsewhere
(Issued from the Queen’s Summer Palace, this eighteenth day of October, 2025 on the occasion of No Kings day of protest)
To all who have entered by the gate of imagination, whether knowingly or by happy accident, greetings from your fellow traveler,
Agnes Regina, Custodian of the Realm of Elsewhere
Let it be known that in this realm there are no subjects, for imagination admits no subjugation.
Each person who enters is sovereign within their own heart, and the crown rests lightly upon all brows.
I have heard it said that a queen must have subjects or she is no queen at all.
I say instead: a queen without subjects is free to meet her equals.
Therefore, I hereby abolish the term subject - referring to persons - from all speech and correspondence pertaining to the Realm of Elsewhere.
Those who dwell or dream within its bounds shall be known henceforth as:
Citizens and Companions of the Realm of Elsewhere,
keepers of kindness, readers of reality, and correspondents in wonder.
Every citizen is invited to govern themselves with courtesy, to keep the peace of their own mind, and to contribute what beauty they can to the commonwealth of the imagination and respecting the dignity of all others.
For though the borders of Elsewhere are invisible, its influence is practical, and its laws - few though they are - apply equally to all:
Respect is our currency.
Curiosity is our compass.
Joy is our defense.
Kindness is our crown.
Those who live by these are full citizens, regardless of profession, age, or address. No oaths are required, no taxes levied, and no borders enforced, save the inner boundaries of decency. Self-Governance rules the Realm.
Let the Naysayers keep their doubts, and the dreamers keep their dreams.
Let the message of civility, kindness and joy be heard clearly and loudly this day.
Let each, in their own fashion and example, help the world remember its manners.
Sealed and signed in blue ink,
Agnes Regina
