The last 2 sentences really speak loudly for me. I can't demand meaning no matter how much I press for it. So, I'll try to be patient and sit in the studio and keep my eyes and heart opened and sometimes something will come to me after an amount of time but if I even try to push it a teeny bit, I lose it. I have to leave it alone yet be open to it arriving on its own terms/timing. It's kind of like holding ones breath as a butterfly lands on your arm and you don't want it to leave so you be still, even trying to slow down your heart rate, and be present to this extraordinary happening.
beautifully said Annette! Here is a little syncronicity for you. I mentioned that I wanted to maybe come down next month to trade out some work with the gallery there. I have not contacted them becuase I am still thinking about it. But another dealer wanted to trade some work so I prepared a google drive presentation of all available studio works for him a few days ago. Then, just yesterday one of the girls from the gallery in Houston emailed me to see if I had any new work that they might pick from. It is rare for them to contact me about new work. So, there is the kairos - timing. Was I anticipating? Maybe on an intuitive level, but the first dealer was the one that prompted me to have the digital presentation ready.
Was it spectacular? No. But it was an interesting timing of events.
Hence observed syncronicity that I am acknowledging. As you say "to be patient and sit... and keep eyes and heart opened" is the trick, not constantly trying to intervene but waiting on the signals from the world for the right timing. And yes, it is as delicate as a butterfly. But we have "to be present to this extraordinary happening". Becasue it is always happening.
Very true and I love your example regarding the galleries. These sychronicities can and do happen any time, whenever, and often and you're right on in saying we have to be present for them to be recognized and appreciated.
