Matthew Rose, a Paris-based American artist, is widely known for his collage works and wall-to-wall-to-ceiling-to-floor installations.
The artist, who graduated from Brown University (1981) with a degree in Semiotics/Linguistics, mixes images and words in a performing manner. His work, influenced by Americans Ray Johnson and Jasper Johns and by the French surrealists, demonstrated over the past 20 years a rare steadiness in this "re-visitation" of the contemporary world.
Matthew Rose is present in numerous private collections throughout the world and in public collections such as the MoMA in NYC, the LACMA in Los Angeles, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boca Raton and the Boulder Colorado Museum amongst others.
