Well, it is just about time to head out for the Collage Safari in London that starts this weekend. I am very excited to meet those of you who will be joining Les Jones and I there. It is going to be a blast.
Hopefully we Americans, when we return home with our collages won’t be tariffed, traumatized or terrorized upon reentry. Our collages will be made of detritus so I am assuming nobody has come up with the idea of a tariff on carefully arranged paper trash yet.
My hope is that we will be documenting the best we can here on the Touchonian on a daily basis so everybody can keep up with what we are doing. There will be about a dozen or so of us using a rented studio space in the Hackney Wick area of London. We’ll start by scavenging materials and then make collages all day and then hang out for the evenings and have dinner and a couple of beers and conversation. We’ll do that for about a week and then have an exhibition at the end of it.
Above is a collage I made last year about this time when Les and I did a Collage Safari together in Brooklyn. Here is a photo of Les and I from that adventure…
Can’t wait to meet you!
Wonderful start. Looking forward to seeing what follows.
