Another motivating piece. Why does it take so long in life for (most of us) to learn it's the hours? Once again, thanks for your gentle but straightforward words.
I've been spouting the cliche', "Quality over Quantity" for many years (which is why I believe in Dr. assisted suicide but that's another subject). I know the word 'mindful' is overused these days but that is what is supposed to be happening when in the studio working/creating art. I often talk about "The Zone" which is a profound and wonderful place to be when doing art because there really is no sense of linear measured time but only the 'now' moments when creating. I have forgotten to eat, drink water, pee, deal with normal duties at times when in the studio. It's exhilarating to be There in that zone and that satisfying feeling lasts long after I'm outta there. Great essay again, Cecil!
The words that came to me when reading this essay were “Three Cords and The Truth”. Well done.👍
