Les Jones (editor of Contemporary Collage Magazine) and I will be meeting up in the NYC area in a couple of weeks and will be doing a week of going on a collage art safari where we will forage and gather materials and then make collages with what we find hopefully culminating at the end in a one day exhibit of our efforts.
I met Les last year when I was in the UK on a collage workshop with Ric Kasini Kadour editor of Kolaj Magazine. After I left the little town in Scotland where the collage workshop was held I headed down to London for a few days and then visited Les and we hung out for a day or two in Liverpool and came up with the idea of this trip then. Originally we were considering Berlin but in the end chose NYC. If all goes well, we might continue doing this idea in different cities around the world on an regular basis.
If anyone will be around in NYC from May 20-26 and would like to meet up just let me know by email and let’s see if we can schedule something.
That sounds like fun. I may be able to come in from upstate during that week. Will keep you posted as the May 20th draws closer. Alternatively, if you wander further afield, I'm a 2-hour drive up the Hudson River, and you're both welcome here for a visit.
