About the week
Dates : 1st - 7th December 2025
The week-long residency has a very simple concept. Each artist arrives in Los Angeles without any collage materials. Your challenge is to spend a week creating new collage art only with materials found or sourced in the city and surrounding areas.
You’ll have your own workstation in an open space with fellow collage artists and each day there will be the opportunity to share your work and receive feedback from Les, Cecil, and the wider group.
The Venue
We’re delighted to say that we have now secured the venue for our week in LA. It’s a bright, open studio in the Arts District of the city. This fourth floor studio is served by a lift and has its own kitchen and toilet. If you join us for the week, you will be given a front door code to come in and out as you please. We have the studio from 8am each morning until 10pm each evening. The studio is close to art galleries and lots of cafes and restaurants.
What’s included…
We want you to maximise your time on the residency, pushing your collage practice in new directions and being inspired by your hosts and fellow artists. We also want to give you amazing value for your investment in the week.
Included in the cost of attending is:

• Daily discussions and feedback from Les, Cecil and your fellow
attendees.
• Inclusion in an article about the week in CC. Magazine

Feedback from the London Residency…
“I found the whole experience exhilarating. Working alongside like-minded, extraordinary artists who generously shared technical approaches and ideas was energising and inspiring. Our work space was like a field of wildflowers with dazzling collages constantly blooming around the room. I will always remember the atmosphere of camaraderie, the good humour and the endless creativity we shared that week in London.”
Steve Snider
“For me, the residency became a chance to shake things up, to step outside of my comfort zone, and to embrace the act of creating fully in the moment. I left London inspired, grateful, and ready for what comes next.”
Deborah Danelley
“I learned that having limited materials rather than a full studio of paper focused my attention and stimulated my creativity. It cemented for me that I have a voice and that my voice works!”
Clare Schmehl
