I was a stay at home mom back in the day and yet I was also producing art for shows every year. When each kid was a tot I'd set up a safe space in the studio for them and provide materials for them to do their own art. I learned how to keep one eye on my art and one on the child who was with me there. It worked out because I made it work out. No one got hurt and no accidents happened. And now that I've been retired for a few years........I can lose myself in the studio yet still be aware of when I need to stop and do stuff outside of it. The dog needs to be fed or go outside and she reminds me. There's an innate knowing when to stop and take care of what needs taking care of. I'm aware of it while creating my art as in being on a back-burner so to speak. And when I'm doing adulting things outside of the studio, my mind can be also have on that back-burner things I'm thinking about in the studio. So there's an intermingle of me here and me there.
